Off to Ireland tomorrow morning with my bud & bass guru Bob Gross...
I have been gigging my brains out over the last few months, and just being thankful for what I get to do with my life! It is exciting to think of all that is ahead, exhausting to look back at all that's been done.
I have met some truly amazing people and seen some breath taking sites.
Regardless of where I am though, it's always about the people.
I am so very lucky to know and to have met so many wonderful people and have so much support on this journey...
There is an old Irish saying my friend Andy from Northern Ireland told me that runs through my head quite often these days in the midst of not knowing what the future holds...
"What's meant for you wont go past you"
It's so very true.
God bless you all & be kind to others...
Always the best,
Shawn
Shawn, bassist Bob Gross & Irelands own drummer Gerry Morgan have been having a huge time at the the blues festivals & gigs in Ireland & UK. It seems as if every show just gets tighter & the turn-outs get bigger & bigger. Shawn's CD "All In Good Time" was just picked up by Proper music distribution in the UK and product will be in stores all around the UK soon! The CDs are just flying out of the box into new fans CD players & homes...
It's a great thing to have a new and excited audience! We couldn't really ask for better attendance and a warmer reception...
A few new dates have been added to the calender for the UK & Ireland trip as well as upcoming California shows, so stay tuned & thank you so much to all the new friends & fans for all the good energy & Support!
A Big thanks to Barry & Hilary Lowis, Andy Peters, Ian Sands, Rory Clements, Larry Roddy, Alan Cackett, BBC Radio Ulster, Belfast Guitar Emporium, and all the club owners for all the help and work put into this tour...
No rest for the willing!
Always the best,
SJ
Just dropping a note to let everyone know how much fun we are having on the tour in the UK & Ireland this year! So far we've had great success with the shows in England with a full house at the Wokingham house concert,
(thanks so much to all in Wokingham for making this a success!) and good turn outs at every stop. We'll be up in the North for a few days in Berwick and then some down time in Scotland before the crazy run we have planned in Ireland! Check the BBC for the radio show with George Jones on Radio Ulster at 3pm on Tuesday the 23rd. All the best to all our friends and fans at home and abroad. Stay in touch and see you soon,
SJ
Back in September I was asked by Country Music Television (CMT.com) to play some in -studio music for their New Voices No Cover program. CMT decided to make me their 'Featured Artist' and you can now view those sessions at CMT'S NEW VOICES NO COVER
As always, a special thank you goes out to all of my fans both at home and abroad - you make me love what I do!
All the best,
Shawn
Hello everyone,
If you've signed up at one of Shawn's shows to receive email updates and aren't getting them, here's the reason: I can't read your writing (I'm sure it's not because you were partying too hard or anything!) So... if you're feeling left out and are dying to know what's up with Shawn, simply sign up on the website or email me directly at angela@shawnjonesmusic.com.
All the best,
Angela
(Shawn's worthy assistant)
